I built Inburgering.org for immigrants preparing for the Dutch integration exams. After 17 user interviews, I created an AI-assisted content engine with 16,000+ exercises. The platform was profitable in its first week, with zero ad spend and €55 in monthly running costs.
This is one of two language-learning products in my portfolio; Romanalia applies a lighter, free-reference model to Romanian grammar.
Opportunity
I looked for a problem to solve and found the Dutch integration exams—Inburgering.
The most visible platform I found during my research was inburgeringonline.nl.
When I analyzed their platform, I saw a massive gap. The content was there, but the UI/UX was outdated.
Research
I conducted 17 user interviews with immigrants preparing for the exams.
I discovered that their “Pain” was about anxiety.
- They were scared of the unknown format.
- They felt overwhelmed by the chaotic study materials available online.
- They lacked confidence in their speaking ability.
My mission became clear: build a platform that gives users confidence through a premium, calm, and structured design.
Solution
I used AI to iterate on the design until it felt right. I wanted it to look clean, trustworthy, and premium.
First Impressions (Home Page)
I designed the home page to be simple and welcoming, removing the clutter often found in educational tools. I added free samples on the home page so that users can try the platform before buying. I used keywords analytics to identify which words to use on the home page to improve SEO.

The Core Interaction (Reading Exam)
I designed the interface to be focused and distraction-free, mimicking the real exam but with a better user experience.

AI Content Engine
The biggest challenge was content. Writing thousands of questions manually would take months.
I built an AI Content Engine:
- I analyzed the structure of official sample exams.
- I wrote Python scripts to make API calls to LLMs.
- I generated 16,000+ exercises across reading, listening, and writing.
Infrastructure
- Hosting: Vercel for frontend, DigitalOcean for backend
- Email: Postmark for email delivery

SEO & Blog
I created focused blog posts on inburgering.org that answer specific exam questions and are designed to attract high-intent organic traffic.

AI Podcast
To help users practice listening on the go, I launched “Inburgering.org A2”.
